Writers Welcome
It’s been almost a year since I started a blog over at LiveJournal and almost as long that I have been thinking about moving elsewhere. Problem was, I wasn’t sure where that new place would be. It isn’t easy finding a fit for a blog, and blogspot did not impress me either in my short stint over there. A friend recently began a blog here at Tumblr, so I thought, why not give it a try?
My blog is called Quinland, named for a place I made in the woods behind my childhood home. Really just a collection of raked-out paths, Quinland became my hideout, my source of personal security, and place to inspire imagination. Since I hope my blog will be all those things and more, I thought it was fitting to name it Quinland, a derivation of my maiden name, Quinlan.
In my blog, I hope you will find inspiration for your own writing. I am a writer, designer, and editor at a daily newspaper in Virginia, and in my spare time I write fiction. I have written four novels, which all remain in various states of completeness. It’s one of my New Year’s resolutions this year to finish editing the first, so I hope you will join me as I set my sights on authorship and attempt to inspire other writers to get out there and write!
